Poibos Part 1

Dasshutsu (Poibos Part 1) is a science fiction role-playing game that was launched in Japan for multiple computers back in 1983 by ZAT-SOFT. The initial plan included several sequels, but only the first installment saw release. The name "Poibos" originates from Phoebus – an ancient Greek deity of light and sun – adapted to fit Japanese pronunciation (ポイボス). This game is historically significant as one of Japan's earliest role-playing games in a sci-fi universe. ---

Plot

A dark Galactic Emperor attacked Poibos, nearly annihilating its inhabitants. Those who survived were captured on the planet Kurane under Imperial rule. Our hero Jorg manages to escape and must now locate seven remaining Holy Men with hopes of reviving his home world.=

Gameplay

The game follows classic RPG conventions: a grid-based map system; turn-based combat encounters that occur randomly throughout exploration areas.
